Micailah Lockhart - Shine

We'd like to introduce you to a new artist, Micailah Lockhart & her new hit, "Shine" on the Reo Deo label.

Micailah Lockhart, from West Palm Beach, Florida, has raw talent that cannot be contained. She is an 18-year-old powerhouse with an old soul, filled with faith and a far-reaching love of the arts. As a singer, Micailah is a 5-octave vocal prodigy who ignites the stage when she performs and blows audiences away. She is presently a student at Pace University, New York City.

Micailah’s debut release on the Reo Deo label is a digital EP titled, “Trilogy.” “Shine”, one of 3 songs from that EP is a hip hop, R&B mix. Micailah co-wrote this hot track with Dubba Aa. Produced by Pepé Willie (94 East, Prince’s first producer, “Godfather of the Minneapolis Sound”) and mixed by Matt “Dr.” Fink (keyboardist of “The Revolution”), “Shine” reflects the combined experience of two talented musicians and producers.

Marc Shaiman, the great Tony Award Winning Broadway composer, lyricist, arranger and performer for films, television, and theatre, perhaps best known for writing the music and co-writing the lyrics for the Broadway musical Hairspray, has been a mentor to Micailah. He has enlisted Micailah on numerous projects, including an appearance on a PBS taping of the American Songbook Series at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Micailah performed Marc Shaiman’s song “I Can’t Let You Go” from the TV series “Smash”. On her performance, Marc commented, “…you [Micailah] are the real thing and I know I’ll be seeing and hearing from you all my life. You are just great.”

During her last year at the famed Dreyfoos School of the Arts, Micailah had the opportunity to sing for Nick Cannon, America’s Got Talent host, who came to Dreyfoos as Principal for the Day. Nick exclaimed, “The girl got skills.”
